Week beginning 10-7-17

Year 3

In Y3 next week, children will be continuing to write their Maleficent story setting. Children will be exploring a range of powerful verbs as well as adverbs, nouns and adjectives. They have made a super start so far and we can’t wait to read the finished pieces.

I’m numeracy children will be completing their end of year assessments. This will give the children opportunity to showcase their amazing talents. Remember to practice those written methods.

During creative lessons we are continuing to express our learning by creating heroes and villains.

We would like to share how much we enjoyed Den Day in Y3.

Year 4

In our penultimate full week of term, Year 4 will taking part in assessments in mathematics, reading, SPaG and science to show the wonderful progress they have made this year. Wednesday will be a transition day so Y4 will move to their new Y5 teacher for the day. In science we will be finishing our theme of ‘sound’ by looking at sound insulation and how we can make things sound proof. In  mathematics we will be reviewing our performances in the arithmetic and reasoning papers so we are truly ready for Y5.

Year 5

Throughout next week we will be applying all our learning to our end of year assessments.

In topic we will be continuing our learning about mini beasts.  We will be creating a timeline indicating the stages of growth in humans, applying our comparison skills.

We are really looking forward to our second transition day on Wednesday with our new classes.

Please ensure spellings and times tables are practised ready for our weekly tests and regular reading is recorded in your child’s reading diary.
As always, please ensure PE kits are in school on a Monday ready for the week ahead.
