Week beginning 26-6-17

Year 3

Next week Y3 children will be starting to explore settings for stories through the tale of Malificent in writing lessons. We will be exploring a range of descriptive devices that will enable us to describe settings for stories in an effective way.

In numeracy we will be exploring statistics. This exciting learning will involve us thinking about how data is presented in different ways as well as how it can be interpreted. Don’t forget to learn those times tables.

In creative lessons we will be using our powder paint skills to create a range of portraits of heroes and villains. This will enable us to extend our painting skills by blending different colours together.

We would like to share how much we enjoyed our sports day last week.

Year 4

This  week Year 4 will be creating and interpreting line graphs in mathematics, much of the data being generated from science experiments. SFA continues with our new books and writing challenges. Our big highlight of the week is our performance of Macbeth, Acts 1,2 and 5 at the specially built theatre in Clifton Park on Wednesday. We look forward to seeing you for the evening performance. Exciting times!

PE will be on Monday afternoon as usual and 4O will be swimming on Thursday.

Year 5

In our maths lessons, we will be beginning our learning of imperial measures.

In topic we will be continuing our learning about mini-beasts.  We will be investigating life-cycles, habitats and parts of a plant.  Children are developing their art skills by drawing animals and making clay models.

Please ensure spellings and times tables are practised ready for our weekly tests and regular reading is recorded in your child’s reading diary.
As always, please ensure PE kits are in school on a Monday ready for the week ahead.
