Week beginning 8-5-17

Year 3

Next week Y3 children will be starting design technology projects based on the Picture This picture. We will be using and testing a range of materials in order to make our products aesthetically pleasing.

In maths lessons the children will be exploring adding and subtracting fractions. This will build on their previous fraction knowledge.

Thank you for the creative homework we received from some of the children. Many of them researched different artists in great detail showing real appreciation for their artwork.

The children would like to share how much they enjoyed their residential visit. Each one of them took risks and challenged themselves to achieve new things. We are really proud of each and every one of them. The Kingswood staff commented on how well behaved they were. Well Done children.

Year 4

This week Y4 will be using their knowledge of angles to describe 2D shapes and different types of triangle. In literacy which is class based Y4 will be describing the process of digestion as a chronological report and getting to use those time adverbials!

In science Y4 will continue to explore the digestive system and learn new vocabulary. We will have had our first session with Pete from Open Minds Shakespeare so we will be looking to develop our new skills within class. PE is back to Monday afternoon and 40 will be swimming on Thursday as usual.

In maths, year 5 will be investigating the properties of regular and irregular polygons.
In English we will be completing our writing based on a visual stimulus.
In RE we will be exploring four Biblical stories from Genesis, starting with Adam and Eve.
