Wishing all of our families a very happy Easter, we look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday 9th April.
Homework for Y3, 4 and 5 is now updated on the homework page.
Year 3
We have enjoyed our Tremors project but are looking forward to our new Stone Age topic. Our learning will start by placing significant events in British history on a timeline, beginning with the Stone Age and finishing with modern Britain. We will learn how the Stone Age people survived and what tools they used.
In the first week back we are working in our new SFA groups and are looking forward to reading more interesting books.
Year 4
At the start of our summer term Year 4 will be studying measures and converting units, then moving onto perimeter of 2D shapes in mathematics. Our new theme called Blood, Bones and Gory bits will be introduced with a study of teeth. This theme focuses on the human body and, in particular the digestive system.
SFA starts straightaway and children will be introduced to their new book. It is also Science Week so classes will be performing experiments culminating in a celebration assembly at the end of the week.
4J have their last swimming lesson on the first Monday back and PE is on a Wednesday as usual.
Year 5
For Y5 we start the new term with a mini Science week where we will be delving into the topic of FORCES. This will include investigations into: Air, Gravity and Displacement. A very hands-on week. This will then conclude our Space Theme.
In mathematics, we will be supporting our science learning with converting and using a variety of measures. Practical and theoretical.
Computing will continue with coding in our new IT suite.
There will also be the usual arithmetic assessment to gauge the mathematical understanding.
SPAG will be revisiting possessive apostrophes.
