Week beginning 18-6-18

Year 3

This week in Year 3 we are continuing our statistics learning in maths. We will be exploring various ways to interpret, collect and present data including bar charts and tables. In topic, we will be learning about the next historic stage, the Bronze Age. We have a fun filled week planned for Sports Week so remember to bring your PE kit for our Sports Day and the Sainsbury’s Sports Challenge Afternoon.

Year 4

This week Year 4 will be studying area and perimeter and revisiting converting measures in mathematics. Some SFA groups will be starting their final book of this year whilst others will be reviewing their skills through a comprehension  and reading assessment.
Science brings the study of electricity, children will be building circuits and making improvised switches to control the current flow. They will learn to record their circuit designs by using symbols.

Year 5

Next week in Year 5, we will be continuing our exploration of angles and shapes in our maths lessons.  We have been learning about different polygons, nets and angles.  

We are continuing our revision of SPaG, focussing on adverbials of time, manner and place.

In our topic sessions, we are continuing our research into rivers around the world.  We will be identifying the key rivers around the world putting our map skills to good use!

Please remember to bring in P.E. kit in on a Monday and reading diaries in on a Wednesday.  Spelling and times tables tests are taken on a Friday.

Don’t forget to bring water bottles and wear sun cream and a hat on sunny days.

Year 6

Next week, we will be continuing to practise songs and actions ready for our production.  
We will also be finalising our writing projects to ensure our portfolios showcase our best quality pieces. 
In addition to this, we are looking forward to sports week – where we will be able to take part in our final sports day! As well as having lots of fun on the inflatable obstacle course. 
Don’t forget:
– Read often and practice key maths facts
– PE kit should be in school Monday, in preparation for our lessons

– Sports week (obstacle course and sports awards eveining)
– Showing our families the hard work that has been put into our production: ‘Bramley the Musical’
