Week beginning 25-6-18

Year 3

This week children will be consolidating what they have learnt within maths this year, ready for assessment week next week. In history, children will be continuing their journey from the Stone Age to the Iron Age; children will learn about hillforts and how they were used in this time period. P.E will be on Tuesday.

Year 4

This week Year 4 will be reviewing their maths for the year in ready for the final assessments by tackling a range of maths investigations to boost their problem solving skills.  In the last week of SFA children will be putting the final touches to their writing and revising SPaG. Children will be solving a range of problems involving electrical circuits and making switches to control the flow of electricity.

Year 5

Next week, Year 5 will be visiting the Tropical Butterfly House as part of our ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ topic.  We will learn about the habitats of some animals as well as their life cycles.  The sun is forecast to shine brightly, so please make sure your child has adequate sun protection as well as plenty of water to drink.

For the rest of the week, we shall be continuing our exploration of angles and shapes in maths and revisiting clauses in our SPaG sessions.  We are looking forward to Thursday when we will be finding out who our new teachers and classes are for next year.  Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school from Monday and that Reading Records are signed and brought in on a Wednesday.  As always, please remember your sun cream, hats and water bottles.  Finally, on Friday we will be saying a fond farewell to our current Year 6 children.

Year 6

Our final week in year 6 has arrived!
What an action packed week it is too!

We will be perfecting our songs and actions ready for our performances this week, which will showcase a range of songs from various musicals.
We will also be celebrating everything we have achieved, in our leaver’s assembly.
In addition to this, we will be having lots of fun – with all our friends and teachers-before we move up to Wickersley.

Don’t forget:

– Read often and practice key maths facts

– PE kit should be in school Monday, in preparation for our lessons

Things we are looking forward to:

– Showing our families the hard work that has been put into our production: ‘Bramley the Musical’

– Being part of FABSS Summer Fayre
