I cannot believe we are already half way through our academic year. We have seen some truly amazing work and outcomes from the children and, I look forward to seeing lots more during the rest of the spring and summer terms.
Mrs Headleand
Staff member receives inclusive nomination
Miss Abrahams has received a very special nomination from one of our families.
The Rotherham Parent Carer Forum has been asking its members to nominate people who have had a positive impat on their child.
School recevied a letter that stated the folloiwng:
'We are delighted to confirm that Miss Abrahams has been successful in being chosen to receive a special mention at the "You Believed In Me Awards" to be held later in March.'
Well done Miss Abrahams, we are all very proud of you.
Concerns have been raised from members of the local community about the amount of cars parked outside school at the end of the day, with engines left running.
Could we politely request that engines are not left running unnecessarily.
Thank you.

Our school target is 96.5%, well done to all classes who have met or exceeded this.
Week commencing 4th March was Book Week in school. Everyone participated in so many fun activities, read so many books and explored a variety of authors and illustrators.
Our sponsored spell took place on Thursday - we will be using the money raised to purchase a couple more bookshelves.
Each class took part in a special 'bun bake off' - such creativity from every class.
Our special week concluded with a dress up day - staff and children alike took part; everyone looked amazing.
We have installed two water coolers in school, which children are free to use throughout the day. School will not be providing plastic cups, children will be expected to bring a water bottle from home - most children already do so which are kept in class.
As a consequence we will no longer be selling bottled drinks at tuck shop at break time. We are concious that we need to do 'our bit' for the environment and limit the amount of one use plastic in school.
We hope that you will support us in our endeavour to become more environmentally friendly.
As well as using our school website to keep up to date with what is happening in school, we would like to encourage parents/carers to follow us on our twitter account.
This is another way of being in touch with what is taking place in school during the week and any events in the wider local community.

We have been having a slightly different focus within our maths lessons.
The children have become the teachers!!!
Miss Jepson set each class a challenge - to create a times table song to a tune of their choice - watch this space to see the amazing creativity shown by our children.
Y3 and their Y6 reading buddies visit the library
Some of our Y3 children walked to the local library with their Y6 reading buddies.
They learned more about how to borrow books, including e-books.
They sat and read books together and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Back in school, the buddies worked together and enjoyed talking more about reading and their favourite books.
Some of our classes have continued with the development of our outdoor learning space.
We have enjoyed working with the Clumber Park rangers; we even found a leopard slug, during our afternoon of clearing the undergrowth.
Can't wait to begin the development of our pond / wet area.
Children in Y6 have visited Studio 62 as part of our '90 years' preparation.
School were successful in winning a Facebook community competition and Amie, from Studio 62, and her colleagues are providing this opportunity as our winning prize.
All children in school will be given the opportunity to help create celebratory clay bunting that will be placed outside in our quad.
The first groups of children rolled, cut out, imprinted and painted their clay bunting, it will be left to dry out before being fired in the kiln.
We can't wait to see the finished pieces.
Author David Lawrence Jones visits school
David Lawrence Jones visited school to share his experiences of being an author and his writing journey from childhood to adulthood.
He gave us an amazing afternoon of enjoyment and inspired many children along the way.
David came back and joined us for a book signing day.
Everyone in school really enjoyed David visiting school - he also loved coming.
Virtual Reality Day - Where did you go?
Children across school went exploring places around the world, through a virtual reality experience.
Year 3 went deep inside a volcano, they also jet packed across the world to Russia and Ethiopia.
Year 4 went back in time.
Year 5 went into space.
Year 6 went aboard the Mary Rose.
All of the children had an exciting time, learning lots along the way.
Gervase Phinn opens our outdoor classroom
Audience: Parents and Carers
We would like to thank author, Gervase Phinn for visiting school this week to officially open our outdoor classroom.
The children were very excited to meet Gervase and knew lots about his books.
FABSS have funded this amazing learning space and we are extremely thankful for the support they give to our school.
Audience: Parents and Carers
One of our Y5 children produced the winning Christmas Card design for South Yorkshire Police. In response to this, we were lucky enough to be visited by six police horses and their riders.
We were all intersted to know that the police horses are named after places in South Yorkshire; Brinsworth, Stocksbridge, Treeton, Eastwood, Woody and Hoober, were the ones who came to school.
We found out more about the role of the police horse and were impressed with how well the horses could follow commands.
A big thank you to South Yorkshire Police for visiting us.
